A very clean, attractive, well maintained, mature RV park. Did not seem to have excessive number of long term tenants. Large trees provide shade in the oppressive heat of the Sacramento Valley (100 degree summer temperatures are common in this area). The first impression was that the park would be difficult to maneuver in -- but the roadways are adequately wide and we had no trouble with our 42' rig. Free WIFi worked great. Located off the main highways, the park is very quiet. The "famous" Green Barn restaurant is an easy walk for a steak dinner. Washing RVs and vehicles is permitted! We would stay here again.

This was an overnight stop for us. The park was clean and well laid out. It was rather less dusty than most desert-type RV parks. Gravel, wood chips, and small patches of lawn made pleasant surroundings. Sites are cordoned off with small logs, so spaces are clearly indicated. Roads and spaces are gravel. A flood (from a nearby drainage channel) had occurred a couple days before we arrived, but the owners were well into cleaning up the mess. Staff was very pleasant. Rate was based on Passport America. We were unable to get a reliable wifi signal at our site.

Park was quite new-looking and very clean and quiet. Pull-through sites are 'siamese' so if you're early, you can pull through, but if you're late, you'll probably have to back in. Roads and sites are asphalt. Nice lawns between sites. Located in a somewhat industrial area, the entrance has somewhat more security than most RV parks we've used (but we saw no issues with security). Located next door to a golf course. WiFi worked very well. We would stay here again.

As a base for a visit to Yellowstone NP, this is about as good as any RV park in the area. Rates are competitive, but hardly a bargain. Park was clean with many trees. Sites and roads were gravel and level. Pull through site was at the back of the park and easy to get in and out of with our 42' rig. WIFI is a paid service, and not very reliable for the price -- we were very disappointed with the service. Takes checks or cash only, no credit cards.

Generally clean, but has a lot of long-term tenants. Facilities are pleasant. Sites are somewhat narrow. "Pull-through" site we were assigned was not truly pull through with our 42' rig, as the exit road was quite narrow -- we had to exit by backing out of the site. WIFI was very unreliable due to high-demand. (It worked great at 4 AM when hardly anyone was online.) We were able to use a computer in the office/rec room to check our email. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

Very clean RV park in a beautiful setting. One of our all time favorite RV parks. Clean, warm pool. Lovely hiking trail. While close to the freeway, a hill blocks the noise, so it's very quiet. I'd rate it a 10 if it had cable TV. Roads and sites were gravel. New owners are maintaining the park at a high level. While the park has big rig access, we were in an end-row site that required exiting by driving around through the park as it would have been impossible for us to make the 270 degree exit turn--the interior roads were wide and easy to maneuver in. We would stay here again.

Park is located about 5 miles off US 97 on the rim of the Crooked River Canyon -- a dramatic chasm. Hiking trails run along the rim and down into the canyon to those so inclined. Roads and sites are gravel. Patches of lawn and nice trees, but generally dry landscape. Very quiet. WIFI worked well. Would stay here again.

Pull through site was adequate. Park was quite dusty. Big rigs must drive around the perimeter of the whole park to get into the pull-through spaces toward the front of the campground. Lots of long-term residents. Nice playground. Rate was with Passport America discount. Park is far enough from the freeway to minimize noise. I'd stay here again for an overnight.

Park was clean and typically dusty as are most dry-area parks. Our stay on Thanksgiving Day included a free turkey, with all the trimmings, dinner in a very small restaurant next to the office. Expectations were low, but the meal was actually very good. The assigned space was adequate for our 43' rig, but the exit route from our "pull-through" site included some impossible turns. We elected to back out from the space, thereby avoiding the difficult maneuvers. Proximity to the freeway was sufficiently distant that noise was not an issue, even though we had windows open most of the evening. We would stay here again -- even if we didn't get a free dinner.

The rate is for full hookup site. Water & Electric sites are less. In addition, $2 per person is charged. If a couple spends more than 15 days, in Texas parks, you should get an annual pass ($60) that's good for the daily per-person entry fee for all people in a single vehicle. (See the Texas State Park web site for details.) You can buy the pass when you check-in. Lockhart State Park is a small and very quiet park that features a 9-hole golf course, hiking trails, and a swimming pool (seasonal). A lovely creek runs through the park. The 10 full hook-up, back-in sites are easy for a big rig to get into we had no trouble with our 43' rig. The sites are located near the golf course fairway, with about half offering a view of the course. These sites offer 50 Amps. The 10 Water & Electric (20 or 30 Amp only) sites running along the creek can accommodate smaller rigs, but only one or two of them could take a rig over 30-35 feet. Verizon cell service is very spotty. Other cell phones worked OK. This is the third time we've stayed here and we'll likely visit again.

If you're looking for a slick, resort-type park, this isn't it! This is a very rustic park in an out of the way place. While children are welcome, I doubt that there's much for them to do -- I'd suggest that the park is suitable for an overnight only with kids. Adults, seeking quiet countryside living, might enjoy a few day-stay (we wish we could have stayed several days, but we already had subsequent prepaid reservations). Due to a problem on the road, we arrived just after dark. It was difficult to see/find the park. However, the park owner appeared with flashlight and assisted as we disconnected our tow'd and backed our motorhome so we could enter the park. The owner also helped guide us into our assigned space (park lighting is minimal). The space itself was quite roomy. The park has a number of long-term tenants and a few stored RVs. The owner explained the large number of vehicles parked -- apparently they also restore 'classic' cars that they export to Europe -- there were a half-dozen Ford Mustangs in various states of restoration and a fully restored 1928 Buick (very nice) parked in view. Previously this RV park was shown to have pull through spots, but that does not seem to be the case at this time. There was plenty of room to maneuver our 43' rig. We would stay there again.

This is a small RV park in a lovely setting by a creek. Our 42' rig was accommodated with little difficulty, but if the park had been more filled when we arrived, it might have been more challenging to get parked. The owner (or son, I don't know which) was most helpful in directing me into the back-in space by the creek. I was also given directions to local attractions. I didn't use the wi-fi, but was able to see the signal on my laptop. I would stay here again.

This is a very clean, neat park. Facilities were well thought out and were in excellent condition. This is a Passport America park, so we actually paid $13.25 per night including tax. The park is a little over 1 year old. Owner has plans to extend the park into an adjacent wooded area (for shady camp sites). The spaces are reasonably wide and there's no trouble with slide outs. No picnic tables or fire rings (but it was rather cool and windy during our three-day stay, so outside activities weren't a priority.) There are two covered pavilions for group activities. If I'm in the area again, I'll stay here again.

The counter person was pleasant, but the pull through space we were directed to was filled. After walking back to the office, we were told "I guess the other girl rented it" and we were directed to another space that was an unusual front-in space. Neighboring travel trailer's awning nearly touched the side of our coach (we don't have slide outs). Spaces are oddly shaped. Roadways are poorly marked and zigzag somewhat and many trees present a challenge to avoid. Low hanging branches scrapped the top and upper sides of our coach. Sign stating "private road" was actually the back side road through the park. It was very stressful getting our 43' rig parked after threading through all the trees. The web site for the park gives an impression that is not matched to the reality. There appear to be many long-term tenants in rather ramshackle trailer. I would not stay here again.

We were given a nice end-spot, pull through site for our 3 night stay. Park has some grass, but has a lot of gravel and is a bit dusty. Staff was pleasant. While it has easy access to I-81 from the Ft. Chiswell exit (Wytheville is the mailing address, but the park is about a dozen miles north), the park is quiet. A Flying J truck stop is not far (but no noise from them, either). We'd stay here again.

We stayed here two weeks (lower rate) and found it quite good as a base point to visit Amish country and other parts of south-central PA. The park was clean and we were given a site close to the office. While the back-in site was relatively close to other nearby RVs, we felt comfortable with it. It wasn't particularly difficult to get our 43' coach into the space. The first night, we did not have a full 50 amps, but the park owner provided a 'cheater box' and extension cord to use dual 30 amp circuits, so we weren't seriously inconvenienced. (The next day, after another RV left, we were able to move our power cord to the 50 Amp circuit.) The park has facilities for kids -- but we didn't see too many during our stay. There are quite a few seasonal residents but most were not occupied during our late season visit. We would stay here again.

Big, noisy (view of I-80), dusty, no landscaping to speak of, and overpriced. I've stayed a few miles down the road in Green River on other trips through WY, but that park was full... Adequate for an overnight, nothing else to recommend it. I'd try to stay elsewhere in the future.

We've stayed at this park several times. For us, it's one of the better parks in the Golden/front range area. The park is clean with nice lawns and a creek running through it. The RV area surrounds the owner's home. There are rental houses and a mobile home park adjacent to where the RVs park. We were able to get Verizon cell service and "air card" service at broadband speeds -- until a recent thunder storm appears to have wiped out the tower. The WiFi offered by the park is sporadic. Our rig is 43', and the owner did a great job directing to get me into our assigned space. On an earlier trip, we were able to be on the main road backed up to the creek -- a lovely site. (Not much traffic on the road.) This time, we're behind the owner's house where 6 or 7 spaces are laid out on gravel -- they're a little close together, but the park hasn't been full this season (fuel prices?) so the RVs have been relatively well spaced out. There's no facilities for kids or outdoor activities (picnic tables, etc), so it's not really for the RVer who is looking for outside living. The owners have been friendly and accommodating. Cash only is accepted -- check by mail to confirm advance reservation. Cable TV is by Comcast (you can get the channel lineup online). We are likely to stay here again.

This park is very clean. Plenty of room to get my 43' coach in and out of a pull through. Sites have a near-level concrete pad for the RV with asphalt road ways. I did not experience any trouble with long-term resident's vehicles as mentioned in another review. I've stayed here several times as an overnight stop and will do so again if I pass by this way. One thing to note is that the office is open rather short hours but allows payment in an envelope through a slot. My after hours arrival was handled by having my name and space number posted on the door -- I was also given the space number when I made a reservation. Got 10% off with Good Sam.

Well maintained RV Park. Lawn, big trees (but many spaces where satellite reception is OK). Reasonably close to the freeway, but far enough away that it's reasonably quiet (some street noise from a nearby busy street -- but generally quiet). Seems to have a fair number of long-term tenants, mostly at the back of the park. Cable TV has about 70 channels -- better than most parks I've been in. WiFi has been quite good and is (now) free. The interior roads and sites are asphalt paved. It was difficult to maneuver our 43' rig (toad unhooked at the office) as the roads are quite tight. There's a city-owned walking path that leads into a small park that passes next to the property -- makes a nice morning or evening walk. We stayed for a week (reflected in the daily rate). We'd stay here again.

This RV Park is tucked in behind a small motel. For our 43' rig, it was a struggle to get into the assigned space. The site was attractive and the park was well maintained. Overall, I was pleased with the site, but I'm not sure that I'd want to stay here again with a big rig. (I had less trouble getting out, when we left.) Owners were pleasant and helpful. Beach was a few blocks away, walkable to those who like the exercise, and certainly easy to get to in a car. The location is a few blocks north of the center of town -- again, walkable to those who don't mind a few blocks and easy to get to by car.

This park was very easy for my big rig to enter and leave. The park has both back-in and pull through sites. I stayed in a pull through for 5 nights as I was having work done in town on my motorhome. I entered and left daily. The park was very clean and well maintained. Attractive grass and tree plantings. The only detraction was the proximity to Interstate 5, so there was some highway noise. I'd stay there again.

Has a mix of pull through and back-in sites. Roadways are gravel, but most camping spots have a level concrete pad. Pull through sites are doubled front/back and alternate facing direction (apparently to facilitate efficient hookups). I stayed 2 nights on my most recent visit and previously stayed 1 night several months before. The park is quiet and sufficiently far from the Interstate so that traffic noise isn't a serious consideration. Plenty of room to maneuver my 42' rig. Laundry room was small (6 washers/6 dryers) but sufficient -- and clean. "Exercise room" was a joke. It was next to the laundry room with an unpowered treadmill and a stationary bicycle -- next to a hot water boiler. I would stay here again, if I pass through the area.

This is an attractive campground with many large trees. Our visit, in January, was during a very quiet time and the park was nearly empty. We especially liked that many sites were screened from the neighbors by bushes and trees. Wi-Fi worked quite well. We could get no signal on our cell phone (may depend on your carrier). We were charged $3 per day extra for a 50 Amp service (included in the quoted rate above). A 10% Good Sam or FMCA member discount was available (also reflected in the above price). I don't have a satellite TV service (yet) but I expect that the many large trees at this park might present a problem for those who do. The cable TV service was quite basic, but adequate, with only 10 channels available. We would use this park again. While it's expensive, the price is in line with other parks in the area considering the facilities and location. Back in access for our 42' motorhome was adequate, but might not be suitable for a beginner. There are a couple of pull through sites available for larger units.

We stayed in this park while taking a class with the RV driving school. As a result, we left the park each morning and returned each evening. Access was good for our 42' coach using a back-in space. The campground was attractive with many trees. The park requests that no carpets be placed on the lawns adjacent to each parking pad. SIgns indicated that sprinklers would run in the early morning hours (but during our winter visit, this did not occur). Spaces seemed close together. Park didn't have much charm. I doubt that I'd stay here again.

This is an attractive park with many trees. We especially liked the "executive" site we were assigned. With our 42' rig, access was somewhat of a challenge due to a tight turn around the park office. We had to take a longer route through the park and turn around to reach our assigned site. The park was located within easy walking distance to Columbia State Park in the heart of the California Gold Country. I would stay at this campground again, should the opportunity arise.

Campground is located on a hillside with individual spaces terraced along the access roads. Our November, off season, visit found the park quite empty. Rainy weather provided rather muddy conditions. The parking spots are graveled and supported our coach properly, but keeping muddy footprints out of the coach was a problem. (A little more generous width to the gravel parking pads would have been nice.) Wi-Fi service was spotty -- the signal would be lost from time to time, then, when resumed, I'd often have to log in again. I was disappointed that this campground had dropped out of Passport America, as we found them through the Passport catalog.
